You are here:SarahName: Sarah Totty
Sarah has been an active part of the Aim Higher Ambassador Project for over a year. She achieved 9 GCSEs A-C and 4 A Levels, including English, Geography, Textiles and General Studies, A-C. She is currently in her third year at Nottingham Trent University studying an English degree. Her future ambition is to study a PGCE in Secondary English Teaching. As an Ambassador, Sarah has been involved in many varying projects. She was involved in one to one mentoring at a local secondary school, encouraging the children to consider higher education and also helping them with their coursework. Another project involved assisting in a 'CSI' week; this experience was totally different involving groups of children trying to figure out the solution to the murder mystery. This project not only benefited the children but also encouraged interaction between staff, ambassadors and the CSI team providing a perfect example for her CV of good communication skills. The project also took her further afield when she went on a week long outward bound trip with 28 Year 9 children who would be doing apprenticeships the following school year. The trip encouraged responsibility and was a great confidence builder; it was a huge success and great fun for everyone involved. The reaction of staff towards the Ambassador Project is proof of the fantastic work that can be achieved, Sarah is a wonderful role model and works well with pupils. She is very well organised, keen, and enthusiastic and an ideal guide for young people.
