Neil

Neil had achieved good grades at GCSE and embarked on AS levels in Biology, Psychology, English and Economics. He planned to go on to university and was interested in using both his biology and psychology in the future.

He attended a Careers for the Future workshop on Careers in Bioscience and Biotechnology, and went on to discuss getting into Microbiology with his Personal Adviser. He was provided with information about microbiology and psychology as well as websites to help him research higher education courses.

A two day workshop at a university covering different aspects of psychology convinced Neil that he would be happier in a career that would involve helping people and understanding human behaviour.

Neil said: I found the information that I received from the Personal Adviser very useful as it helped me to decide what type of career I would be best suited to. The information also helped me to eliminate a career that I was originally considering.

Neil has identified universities that hed like to go to and is in the process of researching what they offer in terms of psychology degree courses.
